the stools look very good, nice simple modern desgn, and are comfy and extremely light weight. the bare metal is uncoated. I sprayed 7 light coats of clear coat, with light steel wool sanding and cleaning between coats, which added needed sheen and comfort to touch. I am very pleased with the stools for the price.

The Melanie bar stool is a nice looking aluminum stool that is a great, low cost alternative to the more expensive aluminum Stools you'll find at higher end designer stores. That said the quality, though not awful, is surely not as good. The grinding on the welds was not super consistent and there's slight variation between stools. However, you really have to look closely to notice these differences. In a nutshell, I'm quite happy with these stools and the value. They're pretty comfortable and will probably last an eternity.
