It was difficult to melt the chocolate in the basin because of the center fontain components made it difficult to stir. We planned on using more chocolate than this held, so we had already planned to use a fonue pot to melt the rest so we could add additional chocolate throughout the party without interrupting the fountain or its use. The fondue pot was obviously much easier to melt the chocolate. We used standard melting chocolate from a local chocolate store which worked well. It was difficult to pour melted chocolate into fountain base without makin a mess. And just about everyone who dipped, dripped chocolate all over the tablecloth- ruining it. Next time, I will keep this in mind and use something to protect and catch most of the mess. I did have to flip the switch several times, per the instructions, to get the chocolate to flow properly at first as well as when I added chocolate, but it was really no big deal. READ THE INSTRUCTONS BEFORE USE!!!

I bought this to use for a Mother Daughter Tea at my church. It worked well, however it was really messy and sprayed chocolate....so that wasn't very cool - but it did clean up easily and was fairly quiet. I'm not sure I would buy this again if given the chance however.

We bought this chocolate fountain for use at my daughters bridal shower. It was a real hit! It was easy to setup, it worked perfectly, and it was easy to clean. We intend to use it now for gatherings in our home - during holidays, or anytime that we want to make more special. It can also be used with cheese fondue etc.
