Atlantic Furniture prides themselves on using eco-friendly hardwood, otherwise known as the Rubber Tree. Using these trees is economical and good for the Earth because:
- After 30 years, a decline in latex production has made only tapping rubber trees for their sap uneconomic
- Trees are removed by hand and replaced with new seedlings
- In the past, felled rubber trees were either burnt on the spot or used as fuel for locomotive engines, brick firing or latex curing. The wood is now used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, stability, attractive color and acceptance of different finishes.
- It is also prized as an “environmentally friendly” wood, since it makes use of trees that have been cut down at the end of their latex-producing life cycle and are always replaced with new seedlings

Atlantic Furniture, Inc. (originally Watercraft, Inc.) was founded 1983 in Western Massachusetts and originally manufactured and sold pine waterbed frames to wholesale customers.
22 years later, Atlantic is a small company primarily involved in import furniture. Their center of operations is in Springfield, MA.

The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.
If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.

[...] The bed is beautifully constructed, and had only a few minor difficulties with assembly. Because the stain is slightly darker than most "natural maple color" beds made of the same tropical hardwood, the bed appears more uniform in color. The arched head and foot boards are beautiful, the radius for the upper and lower bunks aligning perfectly. The ladder has slat rungs rather than rounded poles and is very sturdy, making it easy to reach the upper bunk. The only thing lacking is that I wish the upper guardrails were just a bit more sturdy, but I can easily fix that with a few pieces of hardware and extra fasteners. Overall, I highly recommend this bunk bed.
