Too many old maids left in the bowl if cooked for recommended time. If cooked for longer time more kernels pop but also the previous corn that was already popped burns.

This is a nice popper for the microwave. We just have to fine tune the amount of oil and corn to pop as very few kernels don't pop. The only reason I didn't rate this perfect, the bottom does get hot so caution is advised when removing from the microwave, use potholders. Oh, and hubby has decided the popcorn feature on our microwave works better than us trying to time it.

This popper makes popcorn like an air popper without using up the space of another appliance. It is easy to clean (more like wiping out) and every one adjusts the seasonings the way they like them in their individual bowl. We are very pleased how this works with our family.

It pops just the right amount. I use a couple of tablespoons of Orville's popcorn oil and it needs no butter, just a bit of salt. Very easy to use and a big money saver.
